Kitchen gardens, traditional crops, and women’s health awareness
“Food is Medicine” addresses malnutrition in Savala village, Pune, reaching 150 families, 169 women, and benefiting 600+ people.
The program promotes organic kitchen gardens, traditional vegetables, and sustainable nutrition practices. It strengthens food security, builds women’s leadership, and encourages men’s shared responsibility at home. Surplus produce from the kitchen garden is sold locally, generating income and strengthening women’s dignity, confidence, and decision-making power over family nutrition and long-term community health outcomes.
