Food Is Medicine:

Health Program for Marginalized Women:

Rising malnutrition rates and inadequate healthcare have worsened health standards in rural India. Changing diets and increased reliance on market foods have further compounded the issue.

To address this, we are promoting organic kitchen gardens and reviving knowledge about traditional wild vegetables. In Savala village, Andar Maval Taluka, we are working with 200 families under the 'Nutrition is Health' initiative to grow organic produce year-round.

This initiative has improved health outcomes and brought positive social change:

  • Increased male involvement in household chores

  • Strengthened family bonds, especially between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law

  • Greater awareness of traditional vegetables and organic farming

  • Enhanced women's leadership and water conservation efforts

  • Promotion of seed preservation practices

  • Economic empowerment through vegetable businesses

This effort is empowering rural communities to adopt healthier lifestyles while fostering social harmony and economic stability.
